Lego Batman/I'm Back

Sooo.... a lot of shit has went down in my life in the two months that I've been absent. So I have a lot to talk about, a lot of stuff to get off my chest. But none of you are here for that so I'll let my friends in real life take care of that while you enjoy another nerdy blog.

This blog is for my recent purchase of Lego Batman 2. The game that I anticipated for the whole week that I knew about it. Walking into Gamestop i saw a poster for it and put some money down. I was all excited then less than a week later i got the text telling me it was coming in the morning.

Upon picking up the game I immediately went home and put it in. I was instantly blown away by one thing that all the other lego games I had played in the past lacked. Every character had a voice. This brought the game to life in my opinion. I was a little skeptical because I believed that this might take away from some of the comedic genius brought on by the other games. But i was blown away at the doors that were opened up because of it. The witty one liners that were brought on by the Joker as the game started instantly changed my mind.

Gotham City is something that I've never got to actually explore in any sense of the word. In the original Lego Batman you had missions and that was all you gotta see. So I was so thrilled when as soon as Superman was a playable character, I could zoom to anywhere that I wanted to in the entire city (even though superman is a total tool in my own opinion). The city took the beauty of gotham, and lego-ed it up to the extreme. In the classic Gotham fashion lego characters are holding up pipes and buildings to give it that classic feeling while keeping it true to a lego game.

The only thing that I had to complain about this game, is the same thing that i have to complain about all games. It ended too soon. There is an option on the main screen for the xbox marketplace so here's to hoping for perhaps a few more missions or even a few more characters. I would definately like to see either or in the future of this fantastic game.

I give the game a 4.5/5

Hunger Games Review

**WARNING! This post may contain spoilers, if you haven't seen the movie but read the books it won't be that bad. If you haven't seen the movie or read the books -VIRTUAL SMACK- get on it!!**

Okay, so I went on midnight of the night it was released and due to school reasons my computer was occupied with editing software so I could get my projects done before their due date. But all of that is over now so I can officially do my review on the Hunger Games movie.

First impression of the MOVIE, great movie. I LOVED IT! I really want to go back to theatres and see it again if i can get enough money around to do so. The way that they incorporated the game-makers into it unlike how it was portrayed in the books was ingenious. I felt like the movie gave you a better feel of just how in control the game makers actually were. In the books Katniss would always tell you what she thought the game makers were doing and that gave you the idea of their power. But the movie actually showed them manipulating it to the point of making certain trees fall at the touch of the screen. Their power was pushed forth ten fold and in my own honest opinion this made the movie great.

Now for the part of every review of a movie based on a book. *A-hem* The parts of the book I WISH had been included in the movie or the parts the movie messed up. Starting off from the beginning and working our way through. Katniss (as all who have read the book know) received the pin from madge. She didn't buy it while in the shopping the Hob. And continueing with the pin aspect of it, Cinna made it seem like he had to hide it on her person. The games allowed for each tribute to brink a token into the games that represented their district and reminded them of home. Now you can't do anything drastic like bring in a ring that has a poisonous spike pop out of it (*cough cough* Glimmer *cough cough*) but a pin isn't harmful at all. Moving on to something I wanted to see in the movie was Haymitch falling off the stage. I don't think that it would have harmed anything, and the rest of the capital was supposed to be making fun of them because of his actions. Then the only other problem I had was how Peeta managed to escape the games with BOTH OF HIS LEGS. Peeta was supposed to loose a leg to a mutt or something (i can't exactly recall at the moment) yet Josh Hutcherson just prances out of the games unharmed with all of his limbs.

Those were the only things I didn't all together like about the movie. If you saw something you didn't like or would like to see included please leave a comment. Over-all i thought it was a GREAT movie and will probably go and see it again. Well that's all for now.

Finger Puppets

I have a youtube channel where I little arts and crafts creative type things. One of the main things that I make on the channel is puppets. I made a big puppet and then I got into another type of puppet once I saw a post on pinterest. I really got into making finger puppets.

Now not only am I making them but i'm also doing tutorials on them. I show you how to make the body and different types of clothes. Soon I will be doing a few 'customized' tutorials. I'm thinking about possibly making a few animal puppets and perhaps a pokemon puppet.

The puppets that I have made turned out good. I made a David Tennant (as the 10th Doctor) and a Sam Huntington (as Josh Levinson from Being Human). The David Tennant puppet had no arms and the Sam puppet was the first one that I actually did arms for. I was happy with them so I've decided to start making all of them with arms.

I'm going to start making more of these and I'm currently looking for ideas. I'm even starting to think about making some to be sold if you really want one. I haven't came up with a price yet so that would be talked about when the time came for the commission.

I don't think my spell check works on this computer and my grammer is horrible. So I hope you can overlook any spelling errors and leave me a few ideas for puppets in the future. ALSO! Check out my channel and subscribe. PLEASE AND THANK YOU!

!!FAITH IN NERDOM RESTORED!!

Today was a momentous day for Nerds and Pokefans everywhere. In my small town of jocks, preps and farmers I have won a battle that has been going on for a few days now. Our school has its own 'news channel' which is more spoof news and sattire commercials than anything. This is my first (and regretably last due to my immpending graduation) year in this class and i'm trying to add my own likes and influences into these videos. Needless to say not everyone at this school is like me and thusly they have VERY different opinions than me.

I am a fond lover of Pokemon and it is my latest nerd outlet at the moment if you couldn't tell by my previous posts. A lot of the other people in Mass Media are also Pokefans and we decided we wanted to do a video on what life would be like if pokemon were real. Things like having your Dodrio wake you up in the morning, flying your pidgey to school because a snorlax is causing a traffic jam, etc. The thing is, there are about three people in our class who absolutely REFUSED this idea tried to convince the teacher to not let us do this. We were basically defeated before we even started until at the end of the period our teacher told us we needed to get the opinions of the people in our school.

With new found energy and passion in my heart I set out at lunch time to get the opinion of the people. I may have started out slightly biased by asking the people who I knew would say yes, but that only got me about 15 votes for yes and a few surprising votes for no. So I had to broaden my focus group to include the people who I were unsure of. So I headed to the most daunting place I could find in the lunch room.... THE JOCKS TABLE!

I slowly approached the table with my paper in hand and looked at them all trying to get their attention. After they started to give me their attention I asked this question 'If you were watching CKTV and a video came on that involved references to Pokemon, would you watch it, not watch it or watch it and not care about it?' The results surprised me. Only five out of the thirty-some jocks I asked said no or they didn't care. The others then took the time to tell me their favorite Pokemon from their favorite games. Sometimes I truly forget the impact that a game and a TV series had on this nation.

The final numbers were our of 142 people 85 said yes they would love it, 29 said no and 28 would watch it but not really care for the video. Needless to say upon approaching the teacher with the numbers, she had no choice but to allow us the chance to prove ourselves. It came with the stipulation that we would get ONE video at first, and judging the reaction of the video she would choose if we could make more. This news was enough to get me excited along with my friends. This is a huge step forward for our group and we hope that everyone in our school will back us up with these videos.

Muggle Quidditch

For all of you who don't know, there is a form of Quidditch for Muggles. And I have started the only team within 300 miles of my home town (from research I have found one in Bowling Green). It was a random spur of the moment kind of thing when one day I was just searching Youtube. I found a video of people playing Quidditch and became instantly intrigued by it. I sent a few messages to Ohios representative (Whose name is Alexis MOODY of all things) and soon I had a copy of the rules and a great understanding of the game.

The next thing was making up the teams. This part was fairly easy at the beginning. I filled up the first two teams (Gryffendor and Hufflepuff) but finding Ravenclaws and Slytherins was a more daunting task. We eventually filled up the rosters and started having practices. They started off basic at first. No brooms or snitches, but lately we've added brooms and are approaching practice with our snitch.

This is all very exciting and very nerdy for me so of course I am enjoying every minute of it. Being the head of Gryffendor and the actual founder of all the teams, it is my responsibilitie to get the gym at times when we need it and organize practices and basically everything else there is. Thing is baseball has gym every night for like the next two months so now we gotta either have practices outside or do them on the weekends. So thats a new problem I have to work out.

All this stuff is going to SOOOOO be worth it once the weather brightens up and we can start having matches. We're still working on a scoring system to decide which house will be the overall winner at the end of our 'season' and i'm in the progress of making our trophy. I'll be uploading more information on our matches in the future so make sure to stay tuned.

The Magikarp Conundrum

Sitting in Mass Media today with no work to do we all paired up into our usual chatting groups. My good friend, and pokemon expert Alex Brown, started talking about my blog and my new header. Then the question was brought up "Why did you get a Magikarp on it?" Which brings us to todays blog post. THE MAGIKARP CONUNDRUM!

Lets give a little background on me. I'm a person who appeals to those.... OTHER..... pokemon. If I could have any pokemon in real life my first couple choices would be a Snorlax, Magikarp and Psyduck. I see a great potential in the pokemon that others pass by in hopes of getting something that they don't have to work hard to train. I feel that the Pokemon games should be like the Pokemon series. You raise nurture and love your Pokemon so that when you battle they are the strongest they can be and you actually feel bad when they faint.

Back to the argument. He says that a Magikarp is a crap pokemon and its always been portrayed that way. When you come upon the trainer who has like, 6 Magikarps. Its basically a question of which pokemon do you want to farm. I always fight the argument (because this isn't the first time I've had to defend my little Karpe Diem) that you look past the Pokemon in your party, and look at the pokemon he will become. In this case he will become a totally awesome Gyarados. My friends always play the argument, just go out and catch yourself a Gyarados in the wild. NO! Those are wild mean Gyarados and the one i raise will love me and be so much better than those. I may just be assuming this but in my own head I believe it to be true.

At the end of the argument they were alls till left with indifference for this creature who, in my own opinion, is one of the coolest Pokemon ever. It doesn't matter if we win every battle, it's the journey and the friendship I gain from these magical creatures that everyone else casts aside.....

?The New Header?

I bet your all oogling and ogling at my new header. Yes, that is me. Wearing a Batman mask, a TARDIS t-shirt, and sporting my newly caught Magikarp on my old rod. You may be wondering how i drew such an epic self portrait of myself but here is the kicker. I DIDN'T DO IT! I got it commissioned by one of the greatest artists that there is out on the internet to this date. He makes props on youtube and does these commissions (for a price).

This is a link to his site, you should really check him out. http://www.featherweightcreations.com/index.php
